Hey guys! my name is Matt and i just want to say thanks to all of you for all your help over the years. Im new to posting but ive been reading for quite awile. I have much respect for all of you. Anyway, Ive been climbing with my usual ddrt set up with a pantin. I recently just got the kong dual acsenders. Now I just pop them on with my original setup and it seems to work great . I was wondering if anyone else does this?(Im new to the mechanical acsending world so im sure you guys have done this and moved on to bigger and better methods)(srt:)

Thanks MasterBlaster! you da man

I used a Jumar as a rope handle on a basic DdRT(?) with a Pantin when I first started... it was better than body thrusting but slow and energy draining to me.

Next I went with a similar setup on SRT with a separate access line... BIG improvement... The Jumar was then my primary connection to the rope... TomD made me back it up... Thanks, Tom.

Now I'm back to the one doubled rope but I go up by footlocking using two ascenders (taped together, backed up). My connection to the rope is a couple of spectra runners which happen to be the perfect length for me to easily rest on whenever I need to. It's fast, compact, requires only one rope and makes me think I'm macho... not that anybody else notices.

I'm still a rookie and I doubt this is the end of my experimentation with ascent/work systems, but I thought that little evolutionary tale was worth mentioning.

Welcome to the buzz.

Thanks blinky! your right it is still a little energy consuming but it's nice to be able to work if you have to on your way up. Thanks for the welcome guys

I recently bought the anchor bridge climbing system from Rich H at Fresco Arborist Supply. For those who are not familiar it is a way to self tend your rope while still using your normal distel hitch, VT hitch etc. With this I can pull my self up with one hand, super easy. Add a Pantin and you will fly up a tree with using very little energy.

I also once had my ground guy jump and hang from my line, which launched me about 10 feet higher.
