So I am finally gonna bite the bullet and buy the space helmet. Im thinking about going with the fine mesh screen as my eyes have been taking a beating. I wear contacts which doesn't help...scratched my cornea pretty bad last year.

Anyway, anyone digging the mesh screen over the coarse one?

Buy the fine mesh. The coarse mesh is distracting, and more dust gets in.

Yeah : ( Spaceman is not exactly my style but I think the safety/comfort/and the fine mesh (low profile) visor will work best for me. Tree work isn't a fashion show afterall. I'm funny about new stuff too. If it's too shiny, I may end up going outside and rubbing some dirt on her. Weird I know, but its one of those little quirks I have, I guess.

Just got my Protos....awesome. Already happy with it. However, I did ask for the fine mesh screen but I am not so sure I got it. Hard to tell based on the pictures at treestuff. Does this look like the wide or fine mesh???

Fine Mesh Opening: ~ 2.0 mm H X 1.5 mm W
Coarse Mesh Opening: ~ 3.0 mm H X 2.0 mm W

Thanks for those measurement Greg. I just put a set of calipers on it, and it is indeed the fine mesh. I just wanted to make sure. Thanks again.

Has anyone tried the Dark Olive Protos? I am wondering if it is super hot in the summer? The color is pretty much our company green and I thought it might go well with the uniform, but my hesitation is that it would be too hot - being a darker color, and it is not very hi vis. It is a good looking one though.

Got one. Haven't noticed any difference in the heat but my hard head my not be as sensitive as others. I have the high viz lime on mine

And you are further southernly than me. Sound like I won't be bothered too much more by a darker color. Thanks.

The only helmet I've every felt really hot in is the Pacific Kevlar. That helmet sucks. The truth is its all hot here, well until, its cool that is.
