Pro-Grade Log Dolly

yeah your pics were just two large ,,,

similar display of action to Bixler last post

definitely looks like you guys can move a large log. My only concern is the need to reduce to 1 person for the log moving. A swinger or mini loader seems to be the solution for that.

What's the width measurement of the arbor trolley? Specifically the wheelbase width, not the framework. I have a 12 ft moving ramp I sometimes use to load wood. I rarely get to use hydraulic toys these days :( The ramp is only something like 28" wide. So, the ball carts I've used in the past are too wide to safely roll up the ramp. It looks like the log dolly would fit similarly (being just narrow enough to fit through a 36" gate). Is the arbor trolley narrower, from wheel to wheel?

By the way, the Arbor Trolley seems to be the more innovative and versatile tool (between it and the log dolly), which makes me want to buy one. However, I do a fair amount of planting. Therefore, I would use the log dolly like a ball cart almost as much as I would for hauling wood. Can the Arbor Trolley be used for moving large B&B trees? Did I miss that function in the videos I watched?

bottom of the page has what your looking for chewy. havent had a spot yet where the trolly didnt fit.

as far as moving plants i think a regular dolly would be better, but the trolley is capable. for like 4-6' trees, you can stand the trolley up like a log dolly, strap it to the trolley in a soft manor, and lay it back down and your rolling.
the neck extends on the trolley to like almost 6'.
you can carry a lot of small plants on it.
and i know you didnt mention it but you can carry countless track matts on it. if you set it up right, you can move a lot of anything, just get creative.

If you take the handle off, and ratchet the Arbor Trolley body to the ball, you can tip the ball and drive the tree with the trunk.

We move large balled or containered trees all the time with our Trolley. Nice to have them sideways too so the canopy is not getting banged into stuff.

Thank you sir. My moving ramp measures 27" between the 1 inch tall side rails. Just a bit narrower than the 29+ inch listed width, which is why I was wondering if the measurement across the tires is a little narrower than the frame itself. I can't tell exactly, but it appears from the photos like the solid tires are a bit narrower than the older pneumatic ones. I'm hoping it's just the difference I need.

Not entirely chewbacca, we have not found a need for ratcheting nor removing the handle. We have been doing a lot of containerized stuff and we usually can 2 man a 25 gal tree onto the body of the Trolly, and , yes we do steer with the trunk sometimes, and we can keep it from being damaged. We have even loaded large diameter balls on the Trolley with the Dingo and the ball squeezer attachment where unable to take the Dingo for whatever reason. Invaluable tool....toyl lol. This is the only pict. I could find of moving some Leylands (5) to far rear yard that would have been awkward to hand move being just watered and bigger than they appear in pict. DSCF1336.webp

We plant some very large trees with the crane with 5k plus root balls but ofcourse they would crush the trolley...you have to use the right thing in the right place.

Updates Please-

I’m leaning towards the Stein Arbor Trolley because it’s made here rather than in Taiwan but I’d like long term feedback from Those that are using them.
