pretty good deal on some Merrell mid hikers

The best all round footwear I've ever worn. Apparently they're discontinued, Adidas store on Amazon, ended up having quite a few in many sizes, I bought 8 pairs before they sold out.
People have done tests, and found this Continental Rubber is more grippy than Vibram MegraGrip.
Ha ha, you cannot be serious. Geez, ugly and no ankle support. I pay 300US for boots. Italian made. Best boots on the planet . Many to choose from. 20240611_234504.jpg

They could be improved having a natural toe profile. And, being a shoe [having no ankle support], is ideal, unless you're spiking and need achilles protection.
They actually very durable, lasting about 3yrs of daily use. The tread is a great design, in that it will not hold dirt as much as other complex tread designs.

Those Scarpas are nice, and look comfortable. Reminds me a bit of the approach shoe by LaSportiva the TX2, that I love.

Light and nimble, great for pruning more delicate trees.

Did you ever have a pair of Scarpa’s Tech Ascent GTX approach boots? If you have, how do they compare to the Mescalito’s? The Tech Ascent’s were by far my favorite pruning boots but I’m curious if the Mescalito’s might be similar.

That's something as MegaGrip has been good for me. Do you have a link to one of those tests?
Oh, well, I meant test, as in, a shoe store employee, said the store owner prefers Adidas over any shoe, the store sells (they don't sell Adidas). And she even said, I was spoiled having the grip of the Swift R2s.
If you look at the reviews of the R2s, people who wore them miss them, and say how much they loved them, for disc golf.

And, sometimes I'll hike in the Hoka SleepGoat 5s, and I noticed they seems to have, too hard of a rubber, and do not have the assured grip, especially on wet rocks, as does the Swift R2s.

People should petition Adidas to remake the shoe, but improve it, with the front of the shoe, having the profile of the LaSportiva TX2 leather shoe.
