swingdude likes the emergency roomAgain Treestuff sells some cool ones I just could not be bothered myself...
Or an old hose if you got one, cut off a couple pieces and makeshift covers are born.

This is how I am orienting the ascender now. Facing forward on the right foot. I freaking love it
It's oriented perfectly. Rope falls thru it very easily. Even right off the ground. It feeds better than a ct on my foot. Because it is kept near vertical by the shank. Footie on a strap always slides around on me. Not this bad boy.
My only worry is putting my foot into branch unions. Like I might bend that plate if I am not careful. Hasn't happened yet though. Wore it thru a long dead elm removal today. Lots of tight spots for the feets, I didn't remember to be careful, and it didn't get screwed up. So far so good.
Thanks again powers
What's worse, a bit of pressure on the instep or frostbite?wow tell me you dont climb in those boots!!! ooouuuccchhh
Did fifteen hours this week. At least five of them in spikes. They are better than my muck boots I used to use.wow tell me you dont climb in those boots!!! ooouuuccchhh
I am the man for that job. I am rarely careful with any gear, even if I mean to be. I need things to be indestructible.Nice Mac, glad your digging it. Your right, having them on your spikes seems much more sturdy than the straps; that's for sure.
Do me a favor and don't be careful at all; abuse it. I highly doubt that plate will ever bend or break on you unless there is some extreme side impact. And if it did, send her back to me and I'll hook it up. Feedback is good.
