PNW-ISA 2006

Location
Seattle
The 2006 Pacific Northwest Chapter ISA International Tree Climbing Championships were held September 29, 2006. The venue was Marymoor park in Redmond, Washington, outside of Seattle, in conjunction with the 27th Annual Training Conference of the PNW-ISA at the Marriott Hotel. 420 people attended the conference.

Congratulations to Dan Kraus and Kathy Holzer, who will be representing the chapter at the 2007 ITCC in Hawaii.

Here's all the stats. Thanks to all the competitors who tried their very hardest to demonstrate their craft. The volunteers who pitched in did a great job.

Lest we forget the other lesser mortals who indeed put in a fine performance.

2nd place : Gareth Tudor - Jones
3rd place : John Batton
4th place : Ryan Murphy.

I'm going to mention 5th place (after prelim events) because he deserves credit for a good all round performance.

5th place : Ryan Gustafsson

All in all as i had predicted a fine performance from " BC "
four places in top five is good and three from Victoria in the top five. Way to go guys !

Thanks to sponsors, judges and techs for a good show.
Good luck Dan and Kathy.

thumbs up to all competitors! way to show up BC and way to show up Victoria!

I was at the island climbing thing this summer, to watch, and I thought Ryan G was a VERY smooth climber, I watched his rescue climb and was impressed. happy to hear you did well Gareth, Murph and Ryan G.

yes, go PNW and go Victoria! It's that friendly competition and relentless nagging to train, and of course the Jamboree to keep us sharp. (we also had the only DQ in the competition, just to keep things well rounded. I'm there for you all!)

Way to go guys, Let's see if we can make it a clean sweep next time. Ryan G definately deserves tons of credit. I was looking forward to watching his masters till the mixup. And jeff don't feel bad you weren't the only victorian with a DQ.

Good job to all the competitors! Congrats to Dan and Kathy, you both rocked ! I'm glad we're sending you to represent the PNW USA and BC.

Tom

hey m,
guess you been talking to mr taine? the work climb was sweet. couple of very fun swings in there. gotta love work climbs! the only thing i got to watch deb do was the master's so i have no idea. maybe she timed out on the footlock? she sure showed a huge amount of heart and determination on the master's climb and i look forward to seeing where that takes her in the future. see you in hawaii i hope..?
k.

Hawaii... I surely hope so. Getting 'comp' ready now. New England's isn't until June 9th, but CT is a great warm up on May 19th....

Let the games and fun begin!

I'm hoping to organzie a central Ma rec climb too for some skills sharing, should be good!

I know you'll make us proud is Hawaii! :)
