Please Please help!!!

IMG_4616.webp Hi everyone. I truly need your help and it would mean the world to me. There was a beautiful tree in front of my apartment that gave shade and was loved. The landlord next door (without permission from my landlord whose property the tree was on) completely chopped the tree down :( we are very upset as he hired unlicensed workers to cut it down. Legal steps will be taken but we have no idea what kind of tree it was. If you guys could help ID the tree, it would mean the world. Thank you so much. Any information is valuable to the case. Here's a picture . I'm sorry it's not the best but I don't have anymore pictures. Please help bring justice to this beautiful tree.

Very poor picture. Rather than rely on google take a picture and upload it. That being said, call an Arborist early because if there are legal actions they can point you down the right path toward putting a value on the tree. If you are having an issue finding one (I'm not sure if anyone from LA is on the buzz, try treesaregood.com
This is there find an Arborist page http://www.treesaregood.org/findanarborist
Good luck

No time wasted, I don't mind helping when I can. The new pictures are better but I'm not familiar with it. My suggestion for a local Arborist comes from a property line dispute that I am currently working closely with a client on. The sooner you can get the Arborist involved the easier his/her job is proving the loss.

Hey everyone. That's a Victorian box tree. Sometimes aka mock orange. Botanical name Pittosporum undulatum based on how the edges of the leaves undulate.

Good luck jake. Your landlord will need to have the tree appraised. Hope the neighbors don't get away with a slap on the wrist

Yup would have never guessed that one... mock orange grows as a shrub here...... definitely not a tree!
