Pictures of your chipper truck, lets see them!

25hp Robin Subaru. Wish it was 30 or more. Can't seem to kill that engine, it is real tough.

Have to keep all edges nice and sharp with the gap adjusted precisely otherwise it turns into a wrestling match. Works best with two men feeding it and will pretty much keep up with it.

I have fed many sizes and types and find this to be a pretty good fit for what we do. Mostly pruning with a couple large removals every month. I prefer light and mobile(manually) over heavy( needing pwr).

Best thing I ever did was to extend the tongue and add the locking tool box(climbing gear for two, some basic rigging equip, chaps, pants, pruning tools etc. The tool box is locked down to the trailer but can be easily slid off tje trailer and has two casters so I can wheel the whole lot into the back yard or take it off to make the chipper lighter to push around the yard, tool box is framed 1x1 wood with almost 3/16 or so diamond plate ali, nice stainless piano hinge and handles.

Also legnthening the tongue makes backing up so much more easier.

Here is the truck we use...

I like Sprung's truck alot. I would add that as my 3rd truck... for those small jobs/tight driveways.

What size chipper to you tow?

That is good, probably weighs near 6000 lbs? Does it pull it up hill while loaded with chips?

Our Woodsman 18 weighs 7500lb and can be diffulcult to get up a steep driveway, after a job. Clutch smoking!

It is a 1997 Dodge with cummins 12 valve diesel. 350,000 mi still gets near 20 mpg and pulls like a freight train. Been through a few evolutions of my small tree service rig and this works pretty well for me. I actually downsized from a 1 ton dually and 12 inch chipper a few years back. All saws and tools in side mount tool boxes, climbing gear in the cab, ladders wheelbarrows etc on the rack,10,000lb winch in rear bumper can pull the chipper on board a 16' trailer with 4' side walls, hitch chipper to receiver at front of trailer, put 30 ton log splitter behind chipper and I can dismantle most any tree and take it home...It is basic but works for me as I concentrate on fruit and ornamental trees and fine quality residential pruning. Handles the occasional big removal as well. I sell and give away firewood and mulch anywhere I can find and that definitely reduces the haul off and provides a small return compared to paying for disposal.Plus processing the firewood gives me something to stay warm in the winter or blow off some steam if I am pissed.
I can make 400$ in a day if I am really pissed. selling wood I got paid to cut and haul off provides a nice $ cushion when it gets slow.

Mack mid liner, turbo diesel 16' box, removable top. We love the cab over for backing in driveways etc.. If anything we would buy a newer one, we love it. Pulls the 20" chipper just fine with load and it weighs 15k lbs. Guy at the mulch company dump said it looks like a Russian transport vehicle. Orange paint I guess.
