Photography

I took a photogaphy class a while ago. the instructor said that everyone takes a lot of snapshots and once in a while we take a photograph. You got a photograph there Mark :)

Awesome picture Mark!
Keep finding shots like that and your camera will have more value than all your gear /forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

This pix reminds me of the Volcano areas of Hawaii. Hell on earth, or just startling beautifull.
We recently bought a digitial camara. It is the Canon Rebel EOS. What is nice about it (besides being able to take 500 pixs with one memory card) is the ability to use all the lenses from our other camaras and be able to take shots quickly. Most digitial camaras have a lag from the moment you push the button to when it 'captures' the picture. Not this camara. So it is great for those action pix

I have never taken a course but have taken lot and lots of shots over the years and have learned a thing or two. Just got into digital last christmas and I am learning to love it.

This is a great thread to share non tree pictures

Here is a shot of my son.

Jimmy,

That first one looks like a nice birch log. You should've knocked those shrooms off of it though. They took away from the beauty of the wood! /forum/images/graemlins/rotflmao.gif

Just playin. They are some interesting shots. You seem like you'd be a fun-gi. /forum/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif /forum/images/graemlins/icon319.gif /forum/images/graemlins/spinrhead.gif /forum/images/graemlins/wavzing.gif I can't. I'm sorry I can be a little corny sometimes!

Mark,

There is a photographic concept called the "rule of thirds" (http://graphicssoft.about.com/library/glossary/bldefruleofthirds.htm), not that I used it in the attachment, either to crop it (not done) or when snapping it (hard to remember when panning something moving triple-digit [mph] speeds).

I don't have a digital camera and have extremely few images digitized. Guess I'm waiting for a camera which will accept my 35mm Zeiss glass...

A poor digitization of a great negative is attached.

Glen

Here is a view of base camp in Mexico. I spent 3 weeks here a couple years ago. Good fun.

This is also in Mex. I forget just what the sign says. On top of that wall is a tone of broken glass set into the morter. nasty.
