Amazing Tod , that, that tree could actually survive as a seedling on a rock in a little bit of duff untill it's roots finlly hit the ground ,at least on one side from what I can see, and be what it is today.

I have seen lots of trees growing similar to that and I'm in awe every time. The odds of survival in its a cituation are so against it, yet nature still prvails .

Took this over the long weekend (it was thankgiving in canada). We go to West Virginia 2 times per year to cave. Bright light is a coleman lantern to assist in taking photographs, but another caver had a 1000000 candle power spotlight. I took a 15 second exposure telling everyone in the pic to stay as still as they could and painted them and the background with the spotlight by sweeping it back and forth from the roof to the floor. I stood a few feet away from the camera while doing this to give shadows and depth. It came out pretty good. My wife who is 6 months pregnant is on the left.

I noticed that one of my pineapples started blooming yesterday. I can't wait. Homegrown pineapple is DELICIOUS!
