sad to hear someone has had a similar accident, but good to hear he is doing well.
I only fell 4m but it was enought for me to be out of the trees for 6 months.
Footlocking is so efficent with the kong ascenders but i feel the design is flawed (ascenders should not come of the rope) and even with a backup they are diecy as Chris Girard has stated. For this reason we no longer use Kongs and have swiched to petzl (or prussic hitch) which seam a better design IMO.
