Not necessarily...you could back up your rope bridge with a second rope bridge wo/an adjuster. Then run both rope bridges through a single ring or other bridge tie in thingy of choice.
In the event that the adjuster and its rope bridge fails due to a fall or whatever, the second rope has your ass...
So adjust away with the one bridge and the second bridge would just hang out and give you company
