Pay

Wow Xman...You've got me thinking about comin' up there to talk. I had no idea pay was so different in different areas of the country. It's interesting to see how different things are. Here in Austin, we pay top climbers in the neighborhood of $16-18/hr, and that's considered pretty good. I recently got out of the production end simply because I wanted more. Maybe I should have just moved :-) . I'm having climbing withdrawals...

Wow. That is low. I started my groundsman at $17/hr. --But, he is experienced and works his butt off for me.

And I pay unexperienced groundies $13-$15.--That will reflect on their own personal work experience. Usually, I pay the older fellows more. The highschool and college kids I pay lower.

Can someone give me an idea of what production brings in per day in other places? I know that our pricing is about average down here...right around $65 per man per hour. Averages out to close to $1600 per day for a 3 man crew.

I had a Accreditted company offer me a salary for a 6 day work week that worked out to $7.90/hr....good to know what my certifications and experience are worth...Needless to say I still am operating on my own.

Saw your annoucement in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle, or an announcement that resembled your credentials. I figured that you must be working here in town. Best of luck to you here.Have a safe summer. Wade Dooley

Whats the benefit of banked hours, wouldn't you rather be paid for your overtime when you work it and then put some in the bank knowing you work in a seasonal business? I wouldn't want to be in a position where my employer was managing my money. Also I've heard stories of companys "banking" overtime hours that were then paid back during the winter, at normal wages, which is completly illegal.
