I got home from milling this afternoon, and my puppy ate my Treemotion S.Light. I shit you not. I really enjoyed my time in the Treemotion, but have been lusting after the Cornell saddle. I do nothing but removals, so it needs to be comfy for spar work, and handle bigger saws well. Also curious how the side dee's are, as I spend a ton of time standing in a flip line and spurs. Any thought or insight would be helpful. Thanks.

The MCRS is nice when it is set up right. The leather waist belt is real nice. The side rings/Ds can be orientated to face up or down depending on how you tie the knots. Give it a try both ways to find which you like better.

The instructions show hanging tools and saws from attachments along the rope. I don't like that as it changes the feel. It is much better to attach everything not involved with saddle support to the back belt itself. I used heavy duty zip ties to secure large paddle carabiners on either side and use them for saws and such.

Getting the adjustments stable takes time as the knots snug up but once they are they stay put. For me the leg straps work best set low and moderately loose.

I have been very happy with mine. Heaviest saw I hang off it is a 461. No issues. I use the shoulder suspenders also.
I will try the monkey beaver next just because I like to try different things and the reviews have been very good.

Thanks for the input. I appreciate it. I have done a few removals with both the Monkey Beaver and the Onyx. Both are great saddles and highly regarded, but for some reason I have never gotten along with New Tribe saddles?

I love mine. Perfect for standing on spikes all day. The great thing is when you are on your side d's no tension is on the leg loops so you feel like you only have on a waist belt. I've hung a 660 off it for an hour or 2 and it didn't suck any more than it should. You're an old school dude. This is old school with a new twist. I can't say enough about it. I have 2 of them.

I also love my MCRS. I changed out the side positioning rings to stainless steel of a slightly larger dia.
I commonly use a steel core lanyard with steel snaps. Now I don't have to worry about the snaps gouging the original aluminum rings. I also changed and altered my bridge. I have a short thread on that.
Also there's a few threads on the MCRS for good info.
FWIW I'm interested in an MB ..... maybe from all the buzz on it.
