OK another easy one here for you

This was found on the shores of Lake Lanier in Georgia - what makes this a little different (to me anyway) was that part of the tree was nice and green - the other was showing signs of fruit

have fun

leaves
leaves w/fruit

Lanier is way down

same day picture of the beach (he he) level pole.

the sign at the beach said do not swim beyond the buoy's JOKE.

OK

the tree - what is the difference bewteen the European and the American?

i have trouble with these two - but the leave edges look to me the Fagus grandifolia

what additional pictures would be needed to determine, as this is a local tree and i can get more photos.

thanks

Beech trees are definitely something I miss from up North. Those and being comfortable swimming/recreating in fresh water without the concern of getting eaten by large reptilians!
