Ahhh
This is the internet and so many can talk the talk but ole John just proves there's more to it than talk.
I like the vids mate, put them up for sure. I also have a good grip on reality and profitability so I know the difference between can and should.
On the foams foams foams vid no-one commented on the fact I one handed the ms200 to cut that seed pod off ... what about the one handing of the 44 and catching the little pieces of head plus tilting the log when you go thru the back of the cut??!! We all do stuff just some pretend they dont.
I'm not having a go at anyone specific here but ...
I guarantee, 100% assure you that if I were to shoot a vid of anyone you could all sit here and nit pick it, why did he go that way, why didn't he girth hitch that figure 8 into his biner, ummm, he threw something and never yelled, did you see him dump the saw with no chain brake on, haha his glasses fogged up so he took them off, too hot for chaps what are ya, why are you using 22kn carabiners when ANSI says 23, where's your hi vis shirt, I saw you one hand that, why didn't you wing cut it, why didn't you snap cut it, why did you ding their pukka lawn, why were you under the load when lowering, where's your gloves, why did the saw get stuck, why didn't you use a cambium saver or rope guide, why didn't you have a chin strap, where was your whistle, cant you afford a tear away lanyard, who drilled them vent holes in your helmet?
Guys ... are we all on the same side here? Do you want to see vids? Or should we just hen peck everything so that all we see is still pictures which frankly can hide anything.
Bring on the vids I say, and who knows, we might even get a good clanger one day and have it on tape. I have never seen what happens when a stump grinder hits a gas main, or a chainsaw goes thru a chipper etc ... keep them cameras rolling and dont be shy.
Even errors are good learning curves but encouragement goes a lot further than cynicism /forum/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif
