Yesterday at magnificent Planting Fields Arboretum in Oyster Bay, Long Island, the New York Chapter held their annual Tree Climbing Competition.
The TCC Men's Division winner was Mark Moeske. The Women's Division winner was Melissa LeVangie, for the third year in a row. The field of 22 climbers included 20 men & 2 women.
The hot and humid environment proved for a challenging day. The event brought out many new faces to the competition.
The outcome of the Men's preliminary events was:

3. Jason Krause
4. Dave Jenkins
5. Josh Galilay
The outcome of the Women's preliminary events was:
1. Melissa LeVangie
2. Bear Scovil
The Men's Master's Challenge outcome was:
1. Mark Moeske
2. Jason Krause
3. Dave Jenkins
4. Josh Galilay
5. A.J. Remy
There was no Women's Master's Challenge because neither competitor works in the State of New York and therefore cannot represent New York at the ITCC.
The Preliminary Event Winners were:
Footlock - Mark Moeske (Time: 19.29 - 40')
Belay Speed Climb - Josh Galilay (Time: 30.65)
Work Climb - Dave Jenkins (Total points: 80.0)
Throwline - Mark Moeske (Total points: 20.0)
Aerial Rescue - Melissa LeVangie (Total points: 48.66)
