"New" throwbags

Re: \"New\" throwbags

i havent had a problem with the stitching...yet....but i did bust the ring. the bag got pretty jammed and i was reefing on the line pretty good....snap! down came the zing-it with no bag...pulled the line right through the ring.

Re: \"New\" throwbags

I've been beating the daylights out of a 10oz Sherrill bag for a couple of months now with no sign of weakness... of course, now that I've said that I'm sure I'll be reporting back tomorrow that I just broke it.

Re: \"New\" throwbags

Ok now to reall throw a loop what wieght do you guys have the best of luck with, and line? Somehow me kids thought that my line was a good idae to tie up thing with. I was looking at the new bags I dont really care what comp. just some thoughts on wieght was using 14oz migt stick with it , but I like others ideas.

Re: \"New\" throwbags

I may be the last person remaining on the planet that still uses a 16 ounce bag. It is the weight that I am most accurate with and it almost always comes down to me even on wet Walnut. As for lines I am a big fan of Fling It 1.75 mm, but I hear that DynaGlide is pretty nice as well.

Re: \"New\" throwbags

I use a 10oz on one end and 16oz on the other... I can throw and shoot a 10oz better just because that's what I've always used... it is a little tricky getting it down through grabby brush though. I use the 16oz on the other end when isolating for that very reason. I like thin yellow Zing-It... the thick version didn't shoot as high and the thin red version always seemed to tangle coming out of the cube when shooting it. I haven't tried any of the other lines.

Re: \"New\" throwbags

10z bag and 1.75 pink Zingit here.

I have a question about both the Harrison Rocket's and the NeoKnockoffs. I see that the ring is a different shape (i.e. not round). Is this ring of an appropriate size to use for setting a ring/ring friction saver, or not?

Re: \"New\" throwbags

Leon I think that the whole bag will slide through the small ring....but I haven't tested that -I'll try to check it today and confirm.
As for weight preferences- i prefer 14 oz. I own 12oz 14 oz and 16 oz. I prefer the 14 but the twelve shoots okay and still comes down almost(but not quite) as well as a 14. The 16 is imminently tossable but does't shoot as well out my Big Shot.

Re: \"New\" throwbags

Leon - with a rocket you neet to put a biner through the ring as it isn't big enough.

What I love about the rocket is a 8oz rocket throws and comes down like a 12oz X-brand.

Re: \"New\" throwbags

Actually knowing Andy personally i am a little bias towards the rockets having usued them extensively and getting them straight off the production line so to speak, in my opinion all the previous sherril through bags didnt traqvel right in the air, looked bad, where hard to throw and its hard to believe a little company from nz provided the inovation that sherill had to copy, quite amazing if you ask me, time will tell if a cheap chinese equivilent will stnad up to the tested design.

Nope. I almost always use a 16 oz. The trees in Urban Honolulu don't get too tall and you can hit 40ft with a 16 oz. and guaranteed that bag is coming back to the ground

Weaver is making the Rocket clones not Sherrill, at least that's my understanding.

rich has the forearms of pop eye, thats how he hurls a 16oz bag 80ft up

[/ QUOTE ]

Exactly, I can't imagine putting 16oz up 80 ft., never going to happen for me. 10oz? that's more like it.

Leon, I checked my 14 oz Neon on my aluminium ringed FS, the bag passes through the large ring and hangs in the small.

Justin, I just saw this. Thanks for checking.

Re: \"New\" throwbags

Well now I have a 12oz Rocket I bought at TCI Expo... I gotta say, I like how the construction is much tighter. Gonna be tossing it today.

My 10oz Neo still hasn't given me anything but good service though.

Sherrill (Weaver) said they had trouble with the 12oz and the 16oz bags. We had 12oz bags that split.
