New saddle/upgrade

I have a weaver cougar, it's not bad, I'm giving it to my partner who wants to start climbing. So, I'm looking for a better saddle, say $350-$400 range maybe a little more. I really liked the bridge on the cougar, but would like a little less weight, and more comfort. What say you....

I was thinking of this.

If you want comfortable, the comfort backpad is mandatory on that saddle.
I have one. I got the back pad. I saved like $75 by getting the S. Light.

I would recommend just getting the full version that already has the comfort backpad. The buckles are so worth it. They stay adjusted, and you don't have to slide your waist belt up every single day...

Or check out the ergolite. Our other climber got the blue ergolite empire. It is a comfy saddle. More like the cougar in fit and feel, but with a great hug to it. The velcro band holds it in place. It feels good. I'd recommend on to anybody.

I think the empire has rigging paws for the bridge connections instead of rings, which makes double bridges easier and makes some complicated line/lanyard situations easier and generally makes it more on par with the TM and the onyx.

I agree about the full version of treemotion but it isn't the lightest thing out there,i love it but also loved the Glide series.

Yeah. Right when I started climbing, the company's climber was running a glide or glide 2 or something and was very fond of it. It was light... he was also drooling over the edge and couldn't wait to get one.

I got the edge thinking it was same as ergo, wrong! Damn it,that was an uncomfortable one for me.
I went from the glide to the cougar to the edge,it was like a constant downgrade, then i got the full treemotion and im loving it. I would still wear the glide if i had one, light, comfortable and the leg strap snaps aren't on the inside, somthing I couldn't stand about few of the previous. Take it all into consideration.

Love my ergovation, but if your looking for less weight, it's a bulky guy. And ypu could do better with your $$ brand new cost, even with the light versions I think.
