More than likely that is a Q. canbyi which is kin to Q. graciliformis. Q. canbyi seems to handle alkaline soils a little better than Graceful Oak (Q. graciliformis). Sierra Red Oak (Q. canbyi) is planted in most of the major cities in Texas although it's still very rare. Q. graciliformis is very rare in cultivation. There are a few of them planted out at Texas A&M in Dallas. One of the differences is Q. graciliformis has biennial acorns where Q. canbyi are annual. They are both beautiful trees!
