I dropped the DEDA lanyard for a while, but I got a Rope Wrench 3 weeks ago, and since I've joined the SRT tribe, I've found the DEDA lanyard to be a helpful tool, particularly for climbing alternate lanyard to my final TIP when my climbing line is anchored at the base of the tree.
My current setup is 20 ft. of KMIII (which flips well when spurring on removals), biners on the primary end of the lanyard with a Stein Skywalker pulley and a Distel hitch adjuster. The "auxiliary" end of the lanyard is setup just like Tom Dunlap's lanyard listed above with the ISC swivel biner and a regular aluminum snap. I clip them together and hang them right on my hip, daisy chain the excess. It's a little extra weight, but it functions well for me as I'm learning SRT.
