Yup I was missing something. Thanks. I am so intrigued by knuckle booms they absolutely amaze me. I truly feel they are where it's at for tree work. This has build has been great as far as education goes I love it and hope it continues.View attachment 37795 Rear outriggers are part of the crane assembly. They swing down and extend probably 8 or 10 feet each way.
My guys here are very good welders. When I first started in business I was certified myself I had a portable welding rig and did work in the field. I welded dozer buckets, grouser bars on tracks did a lot of hard facing on buckets and dozer blades. So all of that knowledge has helped in this field.
Yes there will be a short bulk head at the rear on the deck.Looks nice, are you building a head board behind the cab too?
Do you use dual core or just standard .045 wire? Better question what is your setup for welding. That is my day job so super curious what other people use.Yes there will be a short bulk head at the rear on the deck.
The days of pushing rods are over in our shop. Everything we use is done with a mig welder its so munch faster.
Very familiar with both, that dual shield is awesome! We don't use it much in my line of work but the few times I have it has proved amazing. We use mainly hardwire .035.For high strengthen welding we us what we call dual shield 045 equivalent to 7018
For mild steel will use a hardwire equivalent to 7014
