Need Tips On Using A Vermeer 600 Mini Skid

Just bought a 2008 mini today at an auction for 5500. almost new. nobody was there to bid on it. right now i only have a bucket on it. since i never operated one what are some tips that you could share with me (picking up logs, pulling brush, ect...) attachments too.

Use that thing to its full potential. There are many attachments available to make your life easier.

Throw down a sheet of plywood for tight turns on turf. Soon enough you'll master the controls.
 
I find with the grapple sometimes you grab a piece that is on the verge of the tipping point, if you boom up a bit and tilt the grapple in, if centres the weight more.

When your switching attachments turn off the machine and toggle the hydraulic lever to release the pressure to get the attachments on and off.

I find too if I feather the grapple so that it closes slowly i can adjust the boom and grapple so that I'm not bringing the lawn with the log.
 
I only say that because we have one, (with a diesel) and it's a pile of chit! My old Dingo 222 would have stomped all over it!
 
Nice!! i love mine.i got the vermeer grapple cause they were running a special when i bought my machine. we feed our chipper with it.fill the green cans with rakings and grindings and lift them w the grapple...um lets see,when it snows we use the bucket to plow the walkways and areas around the trees so we can work. ....
 
I hate to say it but my wife and i talked about it and i am going to sell it. This is harder to sell than my harley. it is so sweet, she is so pretty ( the vermeer)! need the $$$ for a school loan. any way look in tree bay.
