MTCC..and the winner is..

Just wanted to add an extra thank you to all of those who helped out in every way to make the cometition so great! I know it took a lot of time and work!! Also a thank you to all of the competitors who came out to the event, and as usual, showed such class... and shared information, and tips with other competitors. It's part of what makes tree climbing competitions such special events, and "tree guys" such special people!

Any way to get the scores from all the climbers?

As so as I can, the computer was not a team player this weekend.

Scores should still be there...somewhere..even if on paper (like they used to be at one time, I'm sure)... even if they had to be re-entered now. Only seems fair to the competitors who didn't place 1,2 or 3. I know there were judges score sheets, and a board... Had to be something. They deserve to know where they placed. I personally know climbers that are waiting and anxious to know where they placed. HAS to be a way. Especially if you want newer climbers to want to come back to compete again. Here's the score board at least for those who didn't get to see that.

I'll try re-attaching!

Take a look at the scores for the work climb on that marker board.

Does anyone else think those are a little on the low side?

I mean, Jack, Lucas and Kevin hardly hit 50 points, and aren't there 90 points in the event? I got to watch both Kevin and Lucas climb in this one and they were both great!

Comparing these scores to other events shows these are statistically lower than others.

Hmmmmm.

Hey John.

I was just checking back in, but I thought I'd answer your question. The numbers on the board don't yet take into account "time" points...that's why they look low to you. Basically, "the contestant with the fastest time earns 30 additional points and the rest of the climbers get a one point deduction from the 30-point total for every 8 seconds their time exceeds the fastest time."

Hope this helps. It was great to see you again...thanks for helping me with the gear check.

Till next time,

Jack

Sooooo, does anyone know if we EVER will be able to get the REAL final results and standings???????

It sounds like you may have missed the announcement at the end of the award ceremony... because of the computer issues, they were unable to print the individual results on site, and were going to be printing the results and mailing them to the participants. They were also going to see about posting them on the website (I assume that meant the ASM website).

If you have further questions/concerns you may want to follow-up with a call to the ASM.
