Mother of all Jobs!

This was the mother of all jobs for me. Lots of you guys have done bigger I'm sure. Anyway, this was a crane job but that was all recorded on video. The only still shots is the day 2 with my buddy James and I cutting logs.

2 Trees:

1st was a Silver Poplar. DBH 5' with not much crown left due to other tree operations on it.

2nd tree was the Mother of all Cottonwoods! Diameter was 6' at 6' off the ground. This was the best place to put a notch. Below the notch was the root flare (full of bubbly looking cankers). The root flare increased to about 10'-11' to the ground.

My wife did the tile job. Not bad.

Oh yeah. The MOAJ. (Mother of all Jobs).

Me sitting in the stump. You can't really see it but I am holding a mushroom which curved just like the shape of a pipe.

James with the stump cut on the Silver Poplar. Notice the skid steer in the background. That thing made those 6' giant cookies easy to manage. My landscaper friend let me borrow it for this job!

Would you believe I took those chuncks of wood to my house and someone actually has a need for them? I have a local farmer with goats. He said he wants to make a cool place for his goats to climb around.--Far out!

I'll be getting some video editing software soon (another Christmas present to myself). The crane video will come soon. "At a theatre near you."
