More Bushit

Well, the centralisation issue is a big killer.

It builds bureaucracies and empires for the chiefs.

You certainly cant trust the private sector as much as they'll be driven by the dollar and may cut corners.

Regional centres and families will suffer.

Ask the Russians about centralisation and tunnel tasking employees? People like a little variety, responsibility and a close knit team.

Bad move in this instance I think.

Crikey, the whole forestry service consumes what ... $4 billion a year, that's about 1 day in Bush's world war fund!

Actually I'm a happy fellow - and content about my moniker.

Life to me is precious, therefore I use it.

The oaks, well, that's another story. It's not good for business when I advocate a reduction in overall oak populations here: it's a biome thing, a specific environment issue. There are a precious few however, I try to save. It's not an issue of who wants what, rather, which trees show promise and genetics play the ultimate role in selection. Not politically correct but biologically relevent.

I'll also gleefully submit to anything of value from Humboldt county, including the coed of jurisprudence. Like I said...I'm a happy fellow!

You're a pretty angry guy Oakwilt. Hmmm, come to think of it, your display name isn't very cheery either./forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I know he's not angry just a straight shooter. Some how this guy gets all the goss on political manouvers, he's in the loop, helps bust bad politicians, he's a crusader looking at the issues.

Keep up the good work Wilt.

I could do with a hand here, some one eyed Bush supporters think over throwing the Taliban (installed by USA in early 90's) was liberating Afghanistan and also had to be done in the persuit of Osama ... nice cover story but.

I heard that Venezualian govt had a deal with the Taliban for piping out oil in Afghanistan. The over throw of the Taliban by Bush (invasion) negated that billion dollar deal and now the US is building the pipeline. Can you help me dig up some facts and evidence of this sensored topic ... and you wonder why Hugo Chávez hates Bush.

Because what goes down in D.C. affects us all, period.

You can be voluntarily blind, ignorantly deaf, or just self-serving but complaints when tax time, or a draft, oil prices or poisoned water and food dander your feelings it's no one's fault but your own.

It's like the standard "Support Our Troops" thing, but most - if not all of the people I know who sport just such a slogan would never care about a homeless, sick, or deprived veteran or more importantly...why that man died, the real story, not the political one.

Don't fret Ekka, we're doing what we do best.

Ekka,
question, What do you stand to gain by adding coals to the fire? Just curious, this isn't a personal attack.

It's what he enjoys doing, mate.

Here in Georgia the FS had a big announcement last week when another vendor took over some of the concessions in the Nantaheela NF. The quote from the FS manager was that it would free up the USFS workers from doing mundane tasks like emptying garbage cans. He added that the FS hasn't been able to keep up with the work because they can't hire enough staff. Well...that sounds like one thing on the surface but another in reality. The reason that they can't hire people is just that...they can't because of budget freezes and shrinkages. Make-do with less money.

I am NOT asking Burnham to comment here by any means. BUT...he would be able to share a lot of fly on the wall commentary that us groundlings have no access to. At one time I had a mole in the USFS that shared a lot of behind the scenes interpretation of press releases. Our national natural heritage is not being taken care of very well.

[/ QUOTE ] Only thing I can say about that is you should get to know more people who not only "sport" that slogan but DO care about those people as well. Blind eyes work in both directions.

Oh, I'm just a snoop really. Asking questions gets answers, people who get agitated at questions usually have something to hide.

Then the answers may lead to the truth.

In 1999 Australia goes to Timor, peace keepers, just like the Iraqi roll you guys have. Cut a long story short we were hero's then, a few years later villians ... we were bombed a few times in Bali by Indonesions, could have been part of the "terrorism" thing they reckon.

Could also have been a part of the hate by the Indonesions for assisting Timor during their struggle for independence and recognising them as a new nation and helping instal their own govt and rebuild infrastucture. Sound familiar?

But, now they dont like us. Why?

Read this. http://www.zmag.org/Sustainers/Content/2004-06/27vltchek.cfm

And you'll see that Howard, our PM, has a lot in common with Bush.

Then, not that long ago when the Tsunami hit Indonesia, Howard gives them $1billion! Perhaps his way of trying to buy back peace and that's only one months takings of the oil/gas reserves from timor anyway.

So, I dig, I ask, and I find stuff that makes you realise not all is what it seems.

So what do I gain? Satisfaction, a relieved curiosity. /forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif
