Monkey Beaver harness

I'm going out on a limb here but I'm guessing this is not the way August wanted to introduce the product. This is a regular old tree guy trying to make a buck with the help of a rad company. If you don't like it, just don't buy it. If you don't like him, don't watch his videos. But at the end of the day don't forget that we are all just a bunch of tree nerds posting on an obscure forum.
I hope my posting this in the first place isn't what's considered to have been a misplaced contribution.

Mr Hunicke I must warn you if you speak to highly of said belt I will force to utilize the link that has been open on my computer for a week and pre order said harness. I just thought you had best be warned. [emoji6]
Haha well it'll be up soon I think...

Me too. Thanks August, it looks like you put a lot of thought into it and I appreciate that you are trying to make things easier for us all. Not just making cool stuff for yourself, but willing to share.

Monkey love snuck in there as I was typing. I meant I am destined to buy one too. Not that I'm working on an adjuster

I've only seen pics on stihlmads Instagram

First off G'day to the blokes I caught up with at Arborfest West
Merle and Chiselbit are the first to come to mind.
Much respect Gentleman.

I have been climbing on the Monkeybeaver harness for some months now and teased you blokes a little bit about the existence of this product but delayed discussing it in depth
while waiting for August to make the formal announcement etc.
it was a big change for me having climbed in the Australian brand Arbormaster sliding dd s for the past twelve years and worn out two of them,

I don't mean to offend anyone, but i find the labels, and self promoting .com crap on the back off-putting. I know dozen and dozens of guys (myself included) who have been climbing and wrecking some of the biggest trees on the planet on the west coast for decades. We have been speed lining, blocking down big wood to itself, using cranes, ect. for years without feeling the need to video everything and post it on youtube. This is a way of life and a religion where I am from, and no latest and greatest saddle is gonna make you better. Years of experience and working with great treemen is what makes you better. In the end you are gonna be the same climber in a 35 year old buckingham as you are in a new Matt Cornell. Sorry, but I had to get that off my chest.

Sir may I suggest you take the time to watch Augusts latest video on the harness and listen to him discuss the attitude behind the youtube videos ?
I have been on site now and heard this experienced Treeman giggling at the shenanigans going on while behind the controls of a drone - made him sound like a youth again stripping away the years of hard toil.
so refreshing to be involved with people unsoured by the daily grind of repetitive climbing who put enthusiasm back into the job.

So back to the belt,
its comfy and has plenty of storage and lets me hang my chainsaw on the correct side of the saddle for ease of one handing my 200 as I choose,
when I first put it on I thought to myself "fuck what have I done"
then with Joe Boyd's patience I got it dialled in and my perspective changed.
the ease on on and off after so many years of hopping into a fixed position harness is such a relief especially when you need to zoom down and take that it won't wait piss.
you can bail this harness off so quickly even with the shoulder strap set up the it is almost as you were dropping off a bathrobe before plunging into a pool.
the range of movement options when on ascent or for work positioning is a real seller,
its Ergonomics all over with the adjustment and on the fly changes you can make as you are climbing the canopy or spar.
need to get in tight for a big ride then just yank on up the bridge till you are part of that tree, doing a big ascent them let it out to put the movement into a better position above you and when finished side roll to let the bridge close up again.
the first harness I have worn that fits me with my non existent hips and doesn't chaff my poorly fleshed over boney hip skin after a full days climbing.
that in its self has been a minor revolution.
for what it is worth thats my two cents and some.

@Sthilmadd I was just watching the vid when you posted. I can't wait to test it out at an event in the future.

I now understand the thought behind the side D's - I figured it was for gear

August's logos, vids, and what some think is "self promotion" don't bother me - it shows he has levity, passion, and thought behind his work.

Glad you made it to California.
