Taylor Hamel and Kris Frederickson. Way to go you two, best of skill in Portland.

Here's the men, from right to left:

1st,Taylor Hamel
2nd,Rob Juetten
3rd,Mark Cummins
4th Nick Grebe

I secretly wanted all of them to win so I'm a little disappointed by the results. Taylor's climb was so technical and clean that I doubt anyone could have topped it - watch out Portland!

A super great weekend had by all, I think our largest competitor turnout ever, including 6 guest climbers, 4 returning MN champs, a bunch of greenhorns, and one John Holmes(Spirit Award winner).

Thanks to all judges, techs, and vollies for making it happen, see y'all next year.

Just Kris and Rebecca, plus Shelly Wollerman from Wisco. They all did real good. We gotta get more gals up in the trees over here.

Thanks everyone! Kris and I really appreciate all the support! We are both very excited about Portland.

Yesterday, I pulled out my handsaw to make a cut, but the saw had no teeth! I forgot to change it back after the TCC... funny!

Great job judges, techs, and other volunteers on getting everyone through the day. Thanks to George and Lynn Welles for continuing to co-chair the TCC.

Tay. U the man. That throwline shot in the masters missed my elbow by about 3"! There was about a 3 foot triangular window made up of my arm, torso, leg and tree limb and you air-mailed that throw bag in there PERFECTLY! Hats off to you bro. That blew my mind! As a tech, my worst fear was that I would deny a competitor of a great throw because of my position. I'm glad it all worked out. Taylor Hamel is a true CHAMPION! I'm proud to have been a part of that one. Great memories.

To be honest Matt, I was hoping to miss you by about 6 feet! I overshot the crotch and in the sun I couldn't really see where the line ended up. I was able to haul in the other throw line to isolate. Thanks for your compliments, Matt. Really means a lot coming from you.

Big kudos to both Taylor and Kris. I didn't get to see Kris' Masters climb, but I can say that Taylor knocked his out of the park. Very clean.

Huge thanks to Lynn and George for all their efforts, and especially to Brian and Cam for the endurance tech run on the work climb.

Thanks to Jim Vaughan at City of St Louis Park for the venue. Super day and fun, fun competition.

I hope to be in Portland cheering on our MN reps!

Matt - you sure better share that vid!

Cheers all, Rebecca
