Mini Skids

Yeah, few machines are actually EASY to work on. Possible is the best we can ask for. For winter starting, do the sk-650 and 755 have a block heater so you can plug it in over night?

Tracks came off twice I should of adjusted them my fault
I flipped it twice nothing broke
Throttle cable broke apparently bad run of cable replaced under warranty
Broke lift cylinder replaced under warranty supposedly I am one of the only people in the country to do so.
No Mini is easy to work on
Mine starts in the cold 20 degrees no problem
I would buy another and am in the process of looking for one
I run my equipment hard and the ditch witch is awesome and stands up to the abuse
It is amazing what it can lift with some ballast on it.

Where does ballast go on the mini? I just talked with a salesman from the Shrewsbury, MA dealership and he mentioned that the SK 755 isn't made anymore, it's been replaced by the SK 850. The specs I've looked at say that the SK 750, which is still being made, has an optional 31 hp Kubota. That's the model I'm hoping to demo soon. I'm hoping 31hp is enough. What hp is your SK 755?

I bolted 2 - 20lb weights on each side of the platform on my 650, plus another 75 or 80 lb weight bolted underneath the platform that isn't visible in this photo. I'm pretty sure the 750 might be discontinued, but the 755 is still in production. I saw both the 755 and the 850 at Landscape Congress Expo in Toronto last week. The 755 with the Kubota appealed to me more than the 850 with a Yanmar.

Note to all toro Dingo tx525 owners- I put counterweights like this on my machine, and we keep breaking front forks. Seems to be a weak point, and I have contacted Toro about it. They are saying that it's my problem, not theirs. [emoji35].

When you say front forks are you referring to fork attachments? Or something else? Do you have a picture?

Oasis, good info. That will save some prospective buyers some grief. Now point Dingo to this thread/forum.

They may all of a sudden decide it would pay to upgrade that part and also to take care of their existing customer base. (By the way I have seen people get a positive reply from corporate when all they were getting from the local dealer was neglect.)

I'm portly, and that's why I'm good on the Ditch Witch, if that says anything. In fact, I have frequently acted as a human counterweight on the DWs, hanging on next to the operator and sticking my badonkadonk out as far as possible. the 650 and 755 are beasts. I haven't been responsible for maintenance, but I haven't noticed much down time on the ones I've worked with.

Yep. We are familiar with the "badonkadonk" method. Occasionally we'll put three guys on the back. Very rarely needed.

Is that Ash or Elm? Looks heavy. Looks like elm to me.

It does look like elm, but it's dead EAB ash. That's why the bark was falling off like elm tends to do. It was heavy. Here's a few more big pieces: ( I know they're not big to you Gehl guys)

I just demoed the Ditch Witch SK 750 last week. Sweeeet! I used it on a job and filled my dump trailer with pine logs in a half hour. I think I'm already getting good with the BMG grapple. I was amazed at how easy it is to maneuver this machine. You guys were right, just rest you hand on the two levers and you can move and use the grapple.
The salesman is making me a good offer, and I think I'm gonna go for it. It's a 25 HP Kubota, and I think it has all the power you could want for lifting wood. The only issue is ballast, and I will be adding some when I buy it.

Awesome
The thing that's nice about the 750 is that it's still tier 3
The new model 850 I think has a 38 or 39 horse tier 4 interim so that scares me a bit with emmissions more power is always nice
That kubota is bomb proof though
What's the going rate on them

Mike, the SK 750 that I demoed has a Kubota D1105-E 25HP engine, that is tier 4. They took out the turbo to make it tier 4 compliant....if it had turbo it would be 31HP like the SK 650. This option is available on the 750 in Europe....go figure! But, it still seems to have a ton of muscle. Jesco dealership in Mass is asking $24,500 for the machine, but the salesman is throwing in the bucket and forks for free. I just have to pay the full $2,500 for the BMG grapple. Everything else I have for equipment is well used, so I think it's time I bought a new piece of equipment.
