Michigan Tree Climbing Championship

YAY!! Last time I inquired about something similar, it turned out they had just been emailed and I hadn't looked yet either. I think it's a plot (not really).

They really do pretty well taking care of things, especially as busy as they all are!!

WHAT A BLAST!!!!!!!!!! Such a great time. Thanks to everyone involved, and the level of professionalism displayed by all techs, organizers and climbers! Thanks to all the new friends I was fortunate to meet, and the level of climbing was FIERCE! I feel sorry for ya if you didn't make it!

Thank you to all the Judges, Techs, Climbers, Sponsors and Spectators who came to the Michigan Tree Climbing Championship at Potter Park, Lansing, Michigan. What a great turn out and crew! The climbers put on a great show!! The judges and techs went all out to set up a safe, yet competitive comp.! The sponsors provided a great number of prizes for the competitors and the spectators were the best cheering session a comp. could ever have.

Also a special thank you to our out-of-town guest climbers. Guest climbers arrived from Iowa, Ohio, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina and Utah! It was great having you here and please register again next year!!

Thank you Viking for the great praise!

Kevin Bingham - winner
Lucas Drews - 2nd place
Andy DeGroat - 3rd place.

The actual scores will be posted on the ASM website by Wednesday.

Kevin did a great job so did Lucas and Andy. Rain sucked though no Masters Challenge. It was my first time competing at states. Didn't do as well as I hoped as I only hit two stations in the work climb as I tried to ponytail redirect my rope and my hitch climber got stuck in a crotch so I timed out. Overall had fun!

Two questions, does that mean Kevin is going to get to bring that Singing Tree Rope Wrench of his to an international comp? Since there was no masters, does that mean he didn't get to use it at the comp. or is it allowed in the work climb?

Oh and PS, long time no see Woodland. And tell that son of yours when it starts to get cold and all white up there to head south!

Congrats everybody!

Viking, It was a pleasure hanging out. Kevin rocked out no matter what he was climbing on. It was a good day with a lot of good competitors. Would've liked to see the masters happen but it didn't. Good luck to Kevin and I will be back up next year.
