Marbar for DRT

Has anyone used the lower section of the marbar instead for DRT instead of footlocking or a foot loop?

I've never used the marbar system before and I'm curious if it would work. Any special setup required?

Thanks

I USED a setup that a buddy made which is similar to Paul Sisson's MarBar. It's still around but I use my Pantin instead. The Pantin works well and is more compact. For long ascents the MB may work but I would shift to a TreeFrog or ropewalker then.

My son uses what is essentially a single mar-bar for his feet and a prussic above his hands that he has tied his DdRT system into .

He has the MB bungeed to his chest so as he stands the bungee stretches, then when he sits on the DdRT system and raises his legs the MB advances on its own.

He likes it, it is sort of like the frog system I suppose. The nice thing is that if he needs to stop and work he just steps out of the MB, unsnaps the bungee and goes out the limb.

When he needs to climb higher he goes back to the SRT line, snaps on the bungee steps into the MB and up he goes.

Pretty slick, light on hardware and easy change over.

I had a second conversation with a customer the other day and discovered that it was Paul Sisson, the inventor of the Marbar. We probably talked about things for 45 minutes. You know, that's one thing I just love about this industry how you run into some really cool people. Hope to get up to Washington one day and and meet the man.
