Cool!, although i dont see the motion as being much different than a well set up frog system w/pantin. The speed of ascent would be a difference of seconds. Not more effecient enough to warrant the bulk anyway. Would be fun to play around with. Would be great for an open ascent speed event.

At the point where he passes the midline obstacle he only has one point of attachment. If he slipped at that point he would drop several feet, shock loading the crap out of the single ascender and probably shredding the rope. Apart from that, and the long gangly ascender handle, it looks interesting. Not enough for me to try it though.

IMO I see that it is missing a sternal ropegrab or chest roller
to keep the climber more upright.
