lurking women, care to introduce yourselves?

Hi Lori!!!

So glad you chimed in!!! No more lurking!! It's good to see you here.
A "bit of climbing" you say? Anyone who competes in a TCC is a true diehard climber in my mind. You did great and I can't wait until the next one where we will all just do better and better.

Everyone: Lori just competed in the Western Chapter TCC and this gal is truly my hero. She never gives up. I was very proud to climb with her. It was a lot of fun.

Lori: You have awesome stories to tell, so don't be shy, I know these ladies would love to hear about your experiences and how you came to be in trees.

thanks for posting lori, make yerself at home

Hey Y'all. I guess it's about time I stop just reading and start adding. I'm Camille!
I recently graduated from Warren Wilson College in Asheville, NC where I learned to climb through "working" on the Tree Crew. I started climbing in 2006 but by no means on a full time basis. I've competed in the ISA Southern Chapter TCC the past two years and for the first time this year in the Charlotte TCC. I've been working with a Pro Tree Care since May. I'm learning a lot from The Pro, and so far have been able to climb and ride a crane. I'm aiming to gain as much experience as I can so one day I can do entire take downs.
Thanks for starting this Jersey! I look forward to hearing from y'all.

Hi Tree Buzz people!

My uncle has been bugging me to join for a looong while, so I finally make my debut appearance.

I began climbing when I was five years old. Tom and dad were trying to figure out the figure-8 harness (like a Petzl Ouitzi), but before they did, my sister and I had already put them on-- correctly. We just looked at the instruction manual.
I then graduated in to the New Tribe youth saddle, and now I use a Butterfly II or my dad's TreeFlex.

I started out on a 4-2 Blake's hitch and a foot loop, but have been foot locking for a few years now. Hope to start using a different climbing knot. I was/am the youngest person to use a Unicender.

Thanks to all of you for having me climb with you in the Women's Rec. Climb this past weekend in St. Louis. We should all climb together again.

HELLO STEPH,

It really was great to meet you and Tara AND to have you in the tree with the rest of the GALs.

You have a great pair of teachers there.

Keep on Climbing and pass around the knowledge that GIRLS CAN CLIMB.

Welcome to the BUZZ.

Hi!

I've been wanting to join Tree Buzz for a long time.

I was at the St.Louis Women Rec. Climb. Thanks for helping me. It's so cool to hang out with other women tree climbers, even if its only for a few minutes.

I've been climbing since I was 4. I've been using a figure-8 harness until 3 years ago when Tom gave me a New Tribe Youth saddle for Christmas. Last year I started foot locking and have been using that technique since.

The picture is from when I was in first grade. We went up the tree to have lunch.

Hi, I am Danae also known as the Lad's wife or Tyler's sister. I met my husband through another "tree monkey." He has been in the business since arriving in our country in 1997. He is the Production Manager for Valley Crest Tree Care in Orlando, FL. My husband took me to my first climbing comp this year at the 2008 Geezers. I loved it! I am now addicted and got the honor of being a time keeper at the Florida ISA Comp. I am learning to climb and just set a rope for the first time ever yesterday using a throw line. I am still very excited about that. My brother and husband are being very patient with me while I am learning. I am really impressed with all of the women climber's out there. It really is a challenging and rewarding career.

You will have to show it to me. Adam has told me about it. I looked at the photos from setting up the comp. I was so sad I didn't get to go. He got to go so last minute I couldn't even try. Hopefully we will all be there next year.
