Looking for the perfect lanyard setup

Hi.
I think I have a pretty good lanyard setup, but there is still some things that bothers me about it. My handsaw and the lanyard often gets tangled. And the "extra" rope behind the positioner often gets cought in sprouts and stuff.
Any new ideas????!!!

A sawpod gets the handsaw out of the mix. I'm never going back to the hanging scabbard.

You could also get a small ditty bag to store the extra length. I just daisy chain mine, but it is still a problem sometimes.

I'm liking the Sawpod for that same reason... it ain't perfect but it beats the dangling scabbard thing by a mile.

I use a medium short lanyard, about 9'.

Anything hanging will grab stuff. It's just another version of rope management, the more you do it the more good habits you develop to keep everything fair while you climb.

I put my scabbard on my knee. One elastic is snug above my knee the other is a little loose just below to allow articulation.

The tip of the handle is always right at my finger tips when I drop my hand.

i have my lanyard and handsaw on oposite sides. I feel like that is just a little safer than having to pull out and put back your handsaw right next to your rope lanyard. I also have my lanyard slack in a similar fashion to yours, but i run mine through a figure eight, that way it doesn't get pulled into one big loop very easy.

OK, that just rocks. I'm doing the figure 8 thing tomorrow. The big loop thing is my most annoying lanyard issue.

Thanks Banjo man.

I also have the Lanyard on the opposite side of the Saw, I really dont think having them on the same side is a good idea!

I used an ART Positioner which is a very nice Tool and runs smooth on the Rope, but I am back to a short Distel with Pulley. Hard to beat IMHO.
I failed getting used to Cinch on a dynamic Lanyard, but I didnt give it a serious test yet.

I dont like Rope-Grabs like you have peder-d at all (ISC ?), try out the Distel !

Does your flipline tail down through the pulley? If so would it be more efficient to reorient the pulley, or are you happy the way it is. Thanks.

I quit using a pulley on my lanyard adjuster cuz this trigger snap is smaller and works like a charm...

Some snaps have a rounder, bigger throat and they don't work quite as smoothly.

Thanks Blinky this is where I was headed. Have used ring on a snap to tend slack, switching to a biner and wondering which of the many ways used to tend slack on a biner would be most efficient. I dont like terminating to saddle for lack of versatility.

Toward my left side, and towards where the excess line is daisy chained. Basically just like Blinky's pic, but a pulley instead of the little snap thingy. Are you asking if the pulley orients the line improperly? I never had a problem with it, but I must say I like the little snap!

I put a small pinching clip on the dog clip that is on the side of my master dlx. My safety buck strap what ever is like 15 ft long with a gibs. I put the pincher clip in the middle of the slack and when I need extra rope I ether un-clip it or move ti back.
If that makes scene
