I went to bid a job for tre protection fencing today and this tree was labelled on the arborist report (third party report) as a Linden (Tilia) which it is not. I am leaning to a crabapple (Malus) anyone have any thoughts? pretty large leaves is why I am on the fence about its id.

Could it be 'Tschonowski' crab? Difficult to see the form, but your right on the crabapple angle...

I tried another forum ans was suggested Sorbus aria. it seems to fit the bill.

I agree: This is most likely Sorbus aria - Whitebeam Mountainash (see page 370 of Dirr's Hardy Trees and Shrubs
