looking for a small chipper.

Vermeer carries their bc 600 series. I'm not sure new but sometimes you can get them pretty nice used fairly reasonable. I got mine for a steal basically. Paid $1700.

Personally, I'd look in to the Bandit 6". The feed wheel is twice as wide as the Vermeer, requiring a lot less cutting.

Maybe a 6inch. Does veneer carry a commercial 6 inch chipped? How much are they?

I'm selling my old Morbark Busy Beaver. Not an auto feed, 8" log, load as hell, but worked great for me until I could get a bigger one. I'm 3rd owner, 1st owner kept it stored inside, so it still looks pretty damn good for the year ( not sure of year, but older ) I can get pics to you if you'd like. I have to replace igniton ( I have to hot sire it because I lost key ), I have all the paperwork, and some extar gaskets. Pintle hitch, lights work, tows nice... Let me know. $1,900, BRO. I still use it as I am waiting for my new one to get here. Feel free PM me and I'll get you my number if interested.

I did a head to head demo with Bandit/Vermeer 6" chippers. What ever the V didn't chip the Bandit did. It was evident to me which chipper to buy.

The Bandit works well enough. Dogleg branches need to be cut off or snap cuts made so that the chipper breaks them. As you know, lots of crews in Austin run 6 inchers.

We demo'd a Bandit 9" too. It didn't perform that much better compared to the price increase as well as weight.

Check your local Home Depot if they have rental department. My local one had a small vermeer for $3500 last year, It was very clean and had low hours. Not sure what it was new but it seemed like a good deal.

We have a 2006 rayco rc6 that only has 150 hrs on it. We bought it for one job and really haven't used it since. Our 1290h goes out on every job. If you are interested PM me and I can get you some pictures.

Thanks Tom. It's supposed to say loud as hell. No real safety features, other than I am 5'9" and can't reach blades even when trying, so you have to throw yourself in. With sharp blades ( like now ) it will pull a 8" log in fast enough to kill the engine, sometimes you have to hold the piece back. Brush goes in pretty good, especially if you can leave some solid wood with it , or a good pusher branch. I've never clogged it, and as long as you plan smartly you wont have to stop all the time to trim pieces. I used it 2 days ago for a 80+' Norway Spruce ( and we know how those branches are ) Worked great. Not the fastest machine, but it's not priced that way either. that price is a Buzz member price, LOL I may throw it on ebay. I also have a brand new battery ( one in it is still good, but getting old. Think new one is 650 CCA ). I have pics I can email, but can't get them on here, photobucket not working

We have a BC625A that is for sale. We are no longer using it and it has less than 300 hours. It is a great machine-and vermeer offers great support. We can get you photos later this week-Wed maybe. We are asking $6000.
