Little help here.

I was at a new clients house to look at some maple trimming and she wanted to know what's happening to get Japanese Cherry. She said she had a limb that she cut off because it was different from what the rest of the tree was, different leaves and flowers. It has since sprouted a few more branches that are also like the one that she removed, bigger,fatter leaves. The picture of the thinner leaves ate the ones that are supposed to be there.

What you have is that the top of the tree (the pretty part) was grafted onto another cherry which is now starting to push some growth. PIA and very common occurence
