Lipstick on a Pig?!

thats an interesting thing to catch on to grover. seemed to be a fair thing to say. She seems to be the type that can take a jab anyway. But really he was calling mcain a pig which is also fair. he was only calling palin lipstick which is true too.

Tough seeming woman. pretty good move by macain picking her because its fun imagining her in the white house. you would still have to deal with mcain though being president. Please dont let us live through another four years of this. even if you dont like obama, i cant imagine how anyone could vote for the same guy that bush is voting for.

I think its funny how the southerners and bible belters VOTE! It says in the bible that god will rule.......doesnt voting prove that you dont have faith in gods control of the matters/world? lol hahahahaha!

That is why you must dig through the spin. Decidedly LIBERAL!!! ANd become informed.
Start out with what you believe .... and then choose the candidate who covers most of your issues.
If you want govt sponsered health care , open borders, Bigger govt ,Immediate withdraw from Iraq, Decisions about the U.S. run through the united nations, Terrorists to have The same rights as a U.S. citizens and the right to a public defender? Increased corprate tax rate , capital gains tax, death tax, and if you are pro-choice.Also if you want no new drilling and no Nuclear power plants. (France gets 85% of its energy from Nuclear) Amnesty for illegals, These are liberal positions and if you agree with these then you should vote for Obama!!!
On the flip side if you want free market solutions to health care, smaller leaner gvt, to finish the job in Iraq,New responsible domestic drilling, clean coal tech, 45 New Nuclear power plants,pro-life, A ten percent reduction in the corp tax rate,NO death tax, Less capital gains tax, And no amnesty for illegal aliens, The immagration policy should be reformed in a responsible way . English as the official language. This promotes unity!! By allowing all those coming in to speak to each other in a common tongue rather than each culture only speaking their native .
These are conservative positions and if you line up with these then you should vote for Mcain!!!!!!!!!

Politics is such a crock of sh..! The media has more to do with who gets elected than the candidates.

Unfortunately this is very true, most americans are too stupid to think for themselves and do some research!

its entertaining as hell though! way better than football.

as far as all those taxes go, tai tree, thankfully none of them apply to me. you must be bankin up there in jersey to be worried. as for drilling and nuclear power, those seem like outdated and uncreative ways to move forward. I've seen what "clean coal" does to the appalachians.

Ive never had a problem with english or with imigrants so thats not an issue to me. I dont even know what the job in iraq is that we are trying to finish. no one has explained that one to me.

health care scares the crap out of me and i just pray I dont get hurt or sick. so anything to fix that situation im open to.

but in the end, i agree with blinky. fun to talk about though.

Yo bing,
No not really banking, struggling a bit this year. Hey I am all in with blinky as well.People really need to understand that the essence of conservatism is that because we do not like govt we think it should be smaller and less intrusive. The govt does nothing particularly well which is why I do not like the idea of them running health care. It makes no sense that if you do not trust govt you want them in control of your wellness!!!???
As for energy I think ALL forms of responsible energy should be explored Including wind solar etc. But did you no that nuclear power produces No carbon emissions and that all of the waste from all of the plants in this country since the time they started nuke energy could fit on a football field stacked 10' high. Also the technology now exists to some how reuse or re-energize the old rods. Also saw a cool thing the other day where they are using algae to make different kinds of fuel and it is WAY more efficient than corn or soy .
Anyhow the point of the last post was to see where you
line up. And that's cool it looks like Obama!! No problem.Just not me that's all !! that's why we should vote!!
Hey be well! Clarity over agreement is a beautiful thing!! lets just be civil to one another?!

thats why I love tree climbers. in the end, health care and taxes dont really matter. Just the trees.

I dont like government either, thats why I live in detroit where there is no government to speak of and I can live pretty free. If you were wondering, Detroit is a semi-autonomous zone located North of Canada. it is somewhat like an Indian Reservation.

There are also no jobs here, everyone is broke, the roads dont work, there is no public transportation, the school system is totally fd-up, and the only health care is the emergency room. But I can pile my logs and woodchips around my house and work on my car in the front yard and no one says a thing!

Ocasionally, though, I am forced to travel to the United States to do work and earn some cash.

Funny! Are you being truthful??

Hey bing,

I thought Kwame was going to fix all those problems, after all he's a "for the people" kind of guy, Isn't he?

Still having trouble finding his political affiliation. Oh well, good luck to you.

Taitree, I think we're on the same page but take a look at the so-called conservatives... they aren't conserving anything except the tax free rides and selective capitalism for the rich and they are very intrusive in terms of freedom. Look at the current budget situation... not remotely conservative. Patriot Act, what a crock; a blatant violation of the principles this country was founded on. Don't get me started on 'no child left behind'.

MaCain wants to continue the war for the same reason W started it... his personal sensibilities. It has nothing to do with national security or the good of the many... it's personal.

I think you should consider that they are conservatives in name only. The Republican party is an utterly different animal than it was 15-20 years ago. I voted for Reagan twice and GHWB twice, I used to be registered Republican... but no more. I sick of the lies, fat egos and religious idiots.

I'm not saying liberals are any better, but historically they are no worse. It's high time true Libertarian politics emerged.

OK, that's my political statement, I'm done, I hate politics.

Energy development will never move us one BTU closer to energy independence.

The best, in my not humble opinion, way to have energy independence is conservation. For decades economists have shown that there is a bigger return to consumers and the economy by supporting conservation. There's more to conwervation than just adjusting the thermometer. Retrofitting weather stripping and adding insulation will reduce a lot of energy use.

checking to see that your tires are inflated correctly and the air filter is clean is about as cheap and easy a way to gain a little more MPG.

Jimmy Carter said it best, "Energy independence is the moral equivalent of war."

The proper way to look at energy is 'cradle to grave' There are huge dangers using nuclear. From mining exposure all the way to dealing with the leftover waste. Conservation has few, if any, dangers.

I used to live in arizona, the legacy of Uranium mining is a pretty awful ugly tale as is coal. Seems no real easy way to get energy. Energy is expensive no matterr which way we get it, invading small countries, flatening mountains, drilling up our coastlines, or using native american slave labor to mine uranium. As far as conservatives go, I cant understand why they are so eager to be so wasteful as far as energy goes.

Blinky I do concur!! I am Registered independent. I am certainly not happy with the way things have been handled by either party and long for the days fiscal responsibility. What we need is a revolution of ideas. And term limits for senators!!!!! Even Thomas Jefferson said that this republic would need a revolution every once in a while. Maybe its time huh?!
There are two paths you can go by one to recoil from the whole stinking process or get really active and try to insight some change . The Idea of this government is the best in the world ,But it is supposed to be run OF BY and FOR THE PEOPLE!!!!!!!! not a select group of lawyers and elites.
