That's quite a collection, though I must admit some of my first stumps were worse than some of these. The first and third are definitely worse than almost anything I have ever seen or concieved of doing.Stump cuts tell it all…![]()

I don’t like doing that to crepe Myrtle’s but I did it once. It was way too big for its spot and they needed to see their kids in the pool from the deck, kitchen, and dining room. It’s now down to a level they can maintain yearly. Even though Myrtle’s are akin to weeds and there was a good reason, I felt dirty for doing it.This seems to be the norm around here with these crepe myrtles. Always wondered why every winter people had the tops of these lopped off. I guess to promote an explosion of floral growth in the spring.
