Kong backups

Hello I was wondering what everyone was using to back up the kongs on a double line. pictures would be great too. I know there's the easy way to run up a second line and lock it off. That way there are two different ropes so there is no need for a friction hitch back up.

That last way you described in my mind is the best, and is the way that i do it.

Kong double ascender is currrently not recommended to use in europe as a consequence of the much discussed accident in britain. This being said I guess the two individual rope method is the safest, this is also the standard for industrial access technique but may not be as efficient in a tree crown as on an oil rigg.

You can use a rock exotica dualcender as a backup on it easily or there is a way to use you access line if it is really long with a butterfly knot in it that way you only have to back up one side.
