Kill a Locust stump

Yeah, buddy. But we might be talking outta our butts here.

What's wrong with boiling hot water? Or salt water?

Last time I checked it wasn't exactly the hydration that one needs...and it happens to be systemic. Ah, well. Leaves in the wind and all.

Thinking the salt and water and roundup and veg oil. The round up that we have here is a little weak but can give it a try. Job is happening today and am taking a video so it should be up shortly. Thanks for all the great input. Cheers Beers!!

swing, dude i know your pain about the african tulip trees. i HATE THOSE TREES! i just wish they would go away! no matter what you do they sprout outta of everywhere. after the trees gone, it will even sprout out from roots many feet away from the stump!! we have an account that had 3 african tulips removed almost 7 years ago and its its still sprouting! i have even seen the stump ground out on one tulip and the roots left behind continued to sprout all over the place. i dont have experience with garlon either. since we are in the tropics we have to mix our herbicides with oils to keep them from washing off the stumps. orange oils mixd with round up will make it stick better and my gut feeling says to try drilling holes in the roots and add the mix.

I know Jeff, I too love the banter. It helps with the mundane activities of life. If ya can't smile you just gonna cry. Alls good.

Got sweet video of the GRCS and the drill in action. Tree was bigger than I thought. Always is. Took me alday with clean up. video should be up in a couple days. Dont' be to harsh. I 'm still learning

Josh I tend to pick a nice hot day, after I do the final stump cut I then use the tip of the bar and make some slots where I can pour the concentrated round up. Then I paint on the concentate to the rest of the stump cut. Here in the tropics our trees are so strong and resiliant and very invasive. They would laugh at salt water far less plain hot water, remember a lot of our plants and trees enjoy the salt. I have even tried drilling holes and pouring Velpar l, the tree is still alive today and it lives right next to the ocean on a limestone rock face. Go figure. Tropical trees have steriods in their cells I am convinced. I have to lastly say I have also seen dudes ring bark the trunk ( remove the bark at the base of the tree ) and the tree survives, weird stuff.

i don't think i ever waited 6 months. usually one month, but since i was giving instruction for a no fail, i exagerated the time.
