I've used this video for a year or more now in my presentations about rescue. It is a good learning tool.

Most guys I show this to first laugh and then say "they can relate". When the "teacher" is telling you to do something, you don't usually question it. You also sense his stress of hearing those words meaning "hurry". Not a good "how to" clip but a good tool.
 
Is it just me, or does it look like there IS a belay installed at the top right of the pole? If it is, I really don't understand WHY THEY DIDN"T USE IT.
I feel bad, but I was laughing like crazy at first.
I can't see what technique they were trying to use here. We were always taught to false crotch a line above the victim, secure them and have the ground person lower them down. Alternate to no ground man was a munter from the saddle. Was he just going to carry the guy down, or what? Anybody know?
