Johnny Pro

A friend i made traveling started doing this. She is an amazing person and has more love in her than maybe anyone I've ever met. Her name is Athena. She put up some slideshows on youtube that brought tears to my eyes whenI watched them. Her organization is called Love Thy Neighbor India check it out maybe it would be something you would dig

That's powerful stuff right there!
Awesome!

I think JohnnyPro had a Facebook account. I do not have a Facebook account, and do not know exactly how it all works. Maybe someone on this Forum that has an account on Facebook could try to check JohnnyPro's status.

It's ok with me if he chooses not to participate here, I'd just like to know if he's ok. If he's on Facebook making posts recently about his friends and family, that would provide relief from some concern about his welfare.

I watched his TRT video again last night. Drove up the Chetco River yesterday and went for a couple hikes through the trees thinking about a remotely closing/opening grapple and peddle powered ascender. First one I couldn't think out and thought that his video might help. the ascender seems reasonable. Might be even easier to drive it by battery powered screw gun. I got face b but don't use it except for travel, just creeps me out too much

Surveyor,
I could only find where Macswsn mentioned his boss and he had discussed the possibility in the thread
Rope Racing
And Levi commented in the thread Power Seat that surely someone must have played with the idea. Anyways I like the idea of the cordless screw gun or drill driver. Light, small, and everyone already has one. I'm no engineer but seems like several designs would work. A sailboat winch pulling rope around sheaves came to mind. Probably too much wacky tabacky in my apple

Not sure Jon posted here of his bike like device, but he did have video as I recall on the "Arborist" site.

Haas makes the most sense to me from a practical lightweight system, but I have been interested in making a powered ascender also, then I found the Wraptor.

There is a cordless ascender made that runs the rope through a spiral spindle as it runs up the rope, but a leg and/or arm powered winch would be fun to try.

Working, but I'd like to do some giants (rec)with it.
Lowering device for the wraptor?
I don't have a lot of time on it but so far I just base tie, ascend, then drop it onto a pillow I leave on the ground

Oh, cool bud. No, I meant like a Hobbs or GRCS. Meaning money is not right for me to be buying the wraptor. But man is that thing an energy saver for long ascents. Right on
