IF you believe that the Bible is the inspired written Word of God, then Jesus is the only way.

Questioning Jesus in a Jesus loving forum will likely be contentious. I advise against it.

[/ QUOTE ]

How am I questioning Jesus? I recognize the potential for conflict in a discussion like this but that's where being mature and not belittling someones beliefs come in.

Right. Sorry. Just the only way part. Got ya.

Re:This really puts my life into perspective......

Oroboros I would read the context of the verse I quoted,in fact check out the whole book of Galatians.

Banjo Like I said before what do you think a Passionate Jew or Muslims views are of a Christian.Go back back and read all the verses Ive quoted and tell me what you think the bible is teaching. It doesnt really matter what I think or want, what does the bible teach.

It really boils down to how high of a regard we hold scripture and our view of what truth is.

Why is it the only way? Did God not create all other religions also? Maybe God wanted to offer different paths to him/her.

I think there are uncompromising fanatics with negative views of others in every corner of society. They are almost always a minority within the greater context of their belief systems. I don't think any single blanket statement can sum up how Jews and Muslims feel about Christians. If you believe the thing you posted about following other Gospels you've already told me what you think about Jews, Muslims, and all non Christians for that matter, they are cursed.

What do you think Muslim and Jewish people think about Christianity?

Re:This really puts my life into perspective......

We are all searching for truth. Life is ugly and beautiful at the same time. God imparts us with highs and lows; we in turn must be just as thankful for both high and low. Life = attitude This is what Jesus has to say about it: Matthew 6:22-34 22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy,[c] your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eyes are unhealthy,[d] your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Do Not Worry

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[e]?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Because Jesus Himself said so. More than once.

Re:Atheism, a late bloom of the Christian\'s truth?

[ QUOTE ]

It really boils down to our view of what truth is.

[/ QUOTE ]

Atheism is the end result of the Christian obsession with truth. Christians searched for the truth for centuries and eventually many members of the flock - taking the search for truth a little to literally discovered real truth, that there probably is no God, not in the Christian sense anyway.

The Christians proclaimed only one god had the truth and it just so happened to be their god.

There was a time when the people of the world readily accepted the idea that there were many Gods.......for example, the ancient Greeks (Zeus, Poseidon etc) and the ancient Scandinavian's belief in Odin, Thor etc.

How can completely different and (at that time) isolated cultures have the same God? Its an arrogant idea to believe that any one group has the right to intervene in another's culture and religious traditions.

look at South America, many cultures practice a form of pagan catholicism very far removed from the doctrines of the Vatican and the European version of Christianity ... the Mexican Day of the Dead for example. This is an example of how Christians interfered with a long standing religious cultural tradition, but failed to complete the job because the Day of the Dead and similar rituals were hardwired into the indigenous population and there was no way they were giving that up for some foreigners who proclaimed only their God has the truth.

Christianity in it's folly created a Godless world.

Re: Truth

People have alway rebelled against God. In your heart you & I know you are rebelling now. Like a spoiled boy trying to get the attention of your father, be it good or bad. I'm not trying to convince you wether or not God is real. I'm telling for a fact I know He is Real and you are on the verge of admitting it or you wouldn't feel like you had to post in this absurd thread about Jesus. Something in your heart was touched in this thread or you wouldn't have chimed in. Point blank, don't be a coward talk to the Man in a dark quiet place, confess to yourself and to Him that you are not enough and that with as much as you have.... something is still missing. You are still seeking something, someone. See the human was made to worship to have community with God. But we screwed that up. Romans 3:23 says all have fallen short of the glory of God. Romans 6:23 says 23For the wages of sin is death. God in all His divine wisdom chose that He would not wipe the earth clean again. He prepared a Last Sacrifice so that we could have community with Him again. The second part of Romans 6:23 states but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. See Everyone knows Jesus died on the cross for them, yet few choose to die to self and confess with their lips and with their hearts. They want proof but can't even finish a couple of you tube links, want to argue and to stir in mysticism with truth. Truth Christ Died For You to repair community with you. Atheism wasn't born out of christianity or what ever godless religion you might try to force on others, it is born out of rebellion and self worship. Once The one sows the seeds it is up to the soil to grow the seeds.
Luke 8: 4-15 4 While a large crowd was gathering and people were coming to Jesus from town after town, he told this parable: 5 “A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds ate it up. 6 Some fell on rocky ground, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown.”

When he said this, he called out, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”

9 His disciples asked him what this parable meant. 10 He said, “The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that,

“‘though seeing, they may not see;
though hearing, they may not understand.’[a]

11 “This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. 12 Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13 Those on the rocky ground are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. 14 The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life’s worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. 15 But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.

Jimmy and I have sown the seed through God with the wisdom, guidance, and power of His Holy Spirit. He prepares the soil, prepares the seed, sows the seed, and reaps the harvest through His workers, if that seed takes root in your life and you feel the need to confess your self worship and idolatry to God, then do it in a dark lonely place. Confess that Jesus is Lord. Talk to your Father ask for His guidance through His Holy Spirit, ask Him to baptize you with His Holy Spirit. Confess, repent, and ask for sanctification that is my prayer for you. Not for religion, not for control, not for the one thousand negative reasons you can come up with; but for your family.... the future generations that will be thrown in the fire with you, your wife, your children, their children all because you cannot repent of your idolatry and all its forms. May those seeds fall upon good soil, Father. Amen.

Nah Banjo I dont know that much,im just good googling stuff.
Yeah jeff thanks for the thread its been thought provoking and challenging.

Re: Truth

What i wrote came across judgmental that is not at all what i intended. There just needed to be a choice laid on the table and the truth of the consciences of that choice. Mark Driscoll says it a whole lot better than me (these are really short): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myk7hiEmHwQ&feature=relmfu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73WJk_8EAG4&feature=relmfu http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1YfEs3myME&feature=related
