Anyone interested in doing a rec climb on Jan 15th in CT.

We have to hike 1/4 mile into the woods. Plenty of great trees and a beautiful vista!
Once we get a head count I will pm details of exact location and meeting spot

I'm in.

Here's Goodaking in proper cold weather clothing at last winter's CT rec climb

I'll be coming from SE Mass, and wondering if there is potential for car-pooling.

Which part SE Mass. are you in? My wife is from New Bedford area so I get down that way a lot, maybe something can be worked out. Have to make an early start to get down to the location somewhere around Stamford, CT but it's doable.

Moss I promise I won’t let anyone down with my winter clothing. I have a nice pair of shorts I might bust out this time! Lol. Def bring the zip trolly. I'll have two rope wrenchs for people to try out and the new escalator line.
I’ll pm you all the location once we get closer to the date of the climb. It’s not far from Westport CT 06880.
Looking forward to seeing you all!

Ok, you passed the first SE Mass. authenticity test by correctly spelling NB.

Now for the final question and for bonus points...

How do you pronounce "Tarkiln Hill Road? ;-)

My wife's brother is in Westport, we should be able to work some car pooling out. I'll be in touch as we get closer to the climb date.

"Tah-kinn", from what I can remember of my days working at Cesar's on Ashley Blvd.

How bout this famous one, Moss? "Charlotte White Rd."?

Shorts? Maybe...Speedos? I'm staying home that day!

Anyway, looking forward to meeting you all!

Close, pronounced "Tah-klin" (L and I after the K reversed).

My wife never heard of Charlotte White Road, sorry I get a fail on that one.

I'm thinking it would be "Cha-let".

Ok, we'll figure out transportation...

Ahhh, SNAP! I was close, but no cigar...Cesar probably smoked them all!
"Charlotte" is pronounced "Shar-lottie", which comes from the nickname of the woman who ran a brothel up on Sodom Rd back in the day. Some things just stick. Guess where "Sodom" came from for bonus points! (It's not a real stretch to figure that one out)

Really looking forward to this climb with you all! My girlfriend is really thinking about coming as well. She would have to alter some scheduling, so it's a possibility.

Looks like we are going to have a good group of climbers. looking forwad to the climb!
Happy new years!

Let's hope this awesome weather holds up for next weekends climb!

The meeting spot will be at the Redding Road house in Redding CT
406 Redding Road, Redding, CT 06896.

And then we will have a short 3 min drive.
Some people may have to car pool from the road house because the place we are going to only has 5 spots to park.

let me know what time you all would like to meet up, because i know some people are traveling from far away?
the earlier the better chance we will get those spots to park
