Is this video a compilation of time-lapse photography, special effects, computer generated images or real? I have no clue...

It's real. Really machines, and stop motion photography. You can see everything is made of plastic and the movements are very mechanical.

Sure is cool, though!

It seems like some of the eyes are CGI but then some of the flowers opening and what looks like fungii seem real.
