Lots of tree damage here. Not as much as Isabell, but plenty. A lot of electric still out, my home likely for a week elect co said. Worked long days before storm, longer days after. Trying to take some pics of interesting situations. Post later, no electric, so this from cell ph. Pardon typos.

Stay safe everyone.

Oh yeah. One buzzer company from PA likely to come down here and work under my MD Tree Expert license. I can have one more. Looking for small but quality co with one or more ISA Cert Arborst on their work team.

Write me at thexmanjdd@gmail.com as my regular email not avail due to no computer (electric).
My phone gets that gmail.
Thanks.

Been waiting for some news from the front. It seems treebuzz has been quiet over the last couple of days.

X, we'd love to help out but crossing the border (and travelling 20 hours plus) just isn't in the cards.

Those of us who live in boring weather areas would love to see some pictures.

More on behalf of David on tree cleanup in MD.

"Tree today, far away from alley, NO access, kboom just reached. Also utility lines over alley, low. Tree laying on ground, big diameter white oak, so cut it to 3 ft lengths, drilled hole in top, screwed in j lag. Picked up on j lag. Worked nice"

More from the MD front...

"Large roots all rotted from being buried. Don't know if we got this one yet."

"Every tree that I've viewed that went over had major defects. Most is dead roots from grade change; smothering roots. This cherry was a big girdling root killed a large major root. "

Excellent info on reasons for failure. Primary pathogen--homo notsosapiens.

as in most hurricanes, most trees uprooted and unfixable. but for those with stems intact, preservation is an option.

tried to attach the old heading-cuts-are-okay article, but weak signal here keeps it from sticking. You all know the tune: cut back to the first good node, give trees a chance.

Looks like all the trees with root plate issues failed there, Are you seeing and trees with trunk hollows/cavities that have stem failure but intact root plates?

Damage here in NJ was a ton of flooding and some tree failures over a large area. Not as severe as other storms but definitely very wide spread. We had seven crews working for the power co since 6:00 am Sunday and worked about 116 hrs each this week (and no injuries or damage- great work guys!). The rest of the crews did crane work and clean-up including trees on houses, in pools, and leaning or hanging trees. This week should be a little easier I hope!

Mix of up rooted trees and stem/limb failures. Most show signs of defect and decay at the point of failure. More damage in the Basking Ridge area than in Bergen County.

Overall, it's a lesson for homeowners to take care of their trees!

Wow, David you know if i wasn't swamped with work i'd roll out there with cranes and help brother :) Good point Guy made about not every tree not being a removal.

Been doing storm clean up all week in Montgomery county, PA. Big Red oak for a local township that closed a road till we got there Monday, and a few others that they would rather let a tree company do. Big Hickory that went over, 41" stump to grind plus the massive amount of ground that was uprooted by it. Suppose to clean up a huge butternut(50" =/- diameter) tree that was bid for 2.5 days to clean up that is already on the ground, across the yard, behind the mansion, in the woods, half over the fence, should be real fun, I don't think we are starting it tomorrow with the rain. Turned down many more that we just couldn't get to "right away".

Did this one today. Had to make a cut laying in bed. It felt so good to lie down that I almost couldn't get up again.
