I have to agree with Brian. We would love to have you come out and compete. I will be rocking out again. If I can get rid of this bucket belly by then.

Tyler, is this the same park Don and I did the presentations for Harvey's students?

If I wait to do the comp, I can volunteer for y'all

Honestly we'd be thrilled either way... but volunteers are worth their weight in gold.

Anyone who chooses to come and help will be considered awesome (and hey the chance to work with K Schultz should not be taken lightly).

And Greg "Da Man" and Gary "Da Brough" and Rich "Da No Hair"

I am not sure what park it's going to be held in. There's plenty of options as far as areas. I'm sure Luke will be picking an amazing section to rock out. Hort park is always nice, or even martel forest would be killer.

It is at Squirrel Park on the westside of campus (by the airport)... plenty of parking and restaurants across the street.

Norm, I think it is in fact the park you were thinking of... there is a brick restroom building, several playground sets, a covered eating area....

Is anyone hungry for a great tree climbing competition?

How about some great food for working hard the day before a great tree climbing competition?

Rick Patrick Tree Care is providing lunch, snacks, and beverages on Friday, September 23rd for the set up people. We'll be there from early morning....until....whenever we get done with set up. We may work you hard - but we'll make sure you get plenty of nourishment and beverages to keep you going throughout the day.

Come on up/down/over to Squirrel Park at Purdue University and join in the fun - work up an appetite - and let's get set up for the greatest Indiana Tree Climbing Competition that this state has ever had!!

So....fill out your volunteer form and send it in or give Luke a call and let him know that you'll be there to help out.

Yes Norm that would be the park you're thinking about. I have spent a Fair amount of time in those trees over the years. I would suggest the sycamore as the belayed speed climb. Great tree for a scramble and you can make it as brutal as you want.

Hey everyone! Dena & I went to the Michigan TCC as volunteers this past weekend. Had a blast! We helped set up Throwline and were Throwline timing judges with Dan Mekkes as our head judge. A great bunch of climbers. I think they ended up with 26 guys competing...no gals this year. We were hustling to beat the rain moving in. We were able to get the prelims done before the sky opened up and the rains came pouring down. They had to cancel the Masters Challenge and had to use the top prelim scores for placement purposes.

So NOW....it's on to the Indiana TCC......Luke Dunlevy and his team are looking for climbers and volunteers.....in state.....out of state. We need YOU!!!!

Please sign up to compete or volunteer today!!! The first thread has the link you need to find the forms. Luke has some great sponsorships and prize packages lined up. It's a great time to meet new people and get together with people you haven't seen since last year!! Or email luke@treestuff.com to get more info!!!!

The Patrick's will see you there Friday, Sept 23rd for Set Up and Saturday, Sept 24th for the event. Squirrel Park on the Purdue University Campus in West Lafayette. Let's go climb some great trees and have some fun!!!

I hate missing this one and it only took one year to get attatched to everyone. The Patricks were great to us last year. I'm really glad to see you're still involved you guys. Anyway I have a memorial that day for my father in law who was a Vietnam Vet and career Fed-Ex pilot so it's an honor for me to support my family in the closing chapter of his new beginning. While working in Indiana earlier this summer I stumbled onto a very strong possible venue for next year's event and if it flies...it will be one of the coolest venues for a TCC that I've ever seen. Luke knows about it and I think his brother went to school there. More on all that later. Enjoy your event. I will miss you all!

Two weeks from NOW!!!! We'll be at the park helping with set up and getting things ready to go for the event! If you haven't signed up yet as a volunteer or climber - please get in touch with Luke Dunlevy - and let him know that you want to be there. It is soooooooooooo easy to volunteer and it's such a great feeling to know that you've been a part of something special. And if you aren't sure about the volunteering part....stop in on Friday....see what's going on...and then maybe you'll want to come back on Saturday to help with the event. We're looking forward to another great event!

Just signed up yesterday to compete; Cant hardly wait.
How many competitors thus far? Any one know?

[/ QUOTE ]

We are looking at close to 30 climbers if everyone shows up. No joke.

We still need volunteers...so give me a shout. This event should be a ton of fun.

Hey Luke, do you have any more of those shirts that have the chainsaw on the front that said "I Love Tree Tree stuff" on the bar. they were all snatched up last year before i even knew you threw them out. Sure would like to get my hands on one..

[/ QUOTE ]

No, but there will be tshirts there of all kinds... I will make sure everyone gets hooked up with one or several.

Also: Those climbers who are going to be in town Friday night... we would like to have as many of you as possible go through gear check on Friday. So plan on meeting up with Rich Hattier and Norm Hall on Friday night at the Red Roof Inn Lafayette for gear check. Climbers who can't make it Friday night will be put through gear check at 7am on Saturday.

Rich Hattier can be reached at 216.276.1581.

I'm pretty certain that Uncle Norm is the overall Head Judge for the IN TCC and seeing as he has already stated that the Rope Wrench is allowed for the KY TCC my guess would be that the RW is a go for Indiana.....but don't quote me on that....
