In Memoriam

Some of you NJ guys may have known Dr. John Kuser from Rutgers. I just found out that he died back in August. He had forgotten more about trees than I'll ever know. He helped get the urban forestry curriculum off the ground at Rutgers after his retirement, too.

I'm lucky to have had him as a professor and worked for him. It was the sugar maples in his woodlot that I first tapped for syrup, too. I think he was the one that made me love the tulip poplars the way I do (it was his favorite, too).
