Now that’s a rope! And to think, I was impressed with the sling we have in the shop that is rated to lift 80,000 pounds, that thing is probably stronger yet, and about a half a mile long!

Yah, when you live on an island with big boats around, seeing lines like this actually isn't super uncommon. It is quite a bit bigger than the lines that the ferry's use to tie to the docks though and those are boats up to 460' ('Jumbo Mark II' class) so this one must have come off a tanker, container ship or something else seriously big.

Yup goona call up my machinist buddy now to see if he can make me a block and some rings for this! Rigging rope dilemma solved! LOL

Atlas 9/16 it's basically a 1/2 rope but with alittle extra strength. Plus it fits the 1/2 rock exotica block with swivel great. We use it to pull over trees aswell. Great all around line.

I'm thinking it will be really difficult to put together a DdRT or SRT system for climbing that rope, but I guess you can just use spurs.
